(Because I do like a bit of spritz in there with my wine) So, I promised Marie a bit of a report on my first ever writer’s gathering adventure. And I’d love to whine all about it, but really, that would require my having something negative to say about the whole thing, which I really don’t…
There was the flight down, to the first ever Gay Romantic Fiction Retreat in New Orleans. I mean…New Orleans. That right there, right?!? The flight went smooth as anything, my brand new camera, which I didn’t drop even once, worked like a dream, the ease with which I found my fellow cab riders at the airport once I arrived was nothing short of miraculous, and the quick check-in. Then there was all that fabulous food.
And, of course, the people. Readers and fellow authors alike were fabulous and friendly. The entire retreat was so much fun.
If I did have one complaint, I guess it would be that I have to wait a year to do it all again.
Well, that and the book signing. (Marie posted a pic of me signing someone’s tote bag somewhere. I saw it.) Now, don’t get me wrong. I had a great time talking to readers about my books. In some ways, it is a lot like talking about them on line. except…I turned about 876 shades of red every time someone came up to me and said how much they love my work. Now you all know. When I say, here on line that a compliment made me blush? You so know it’s true. My blush had a blush. It was awful!
And just because this is the coffee and porn sight I love so much, i had to share this.
Which amuses me because I had to delete all the photos I had of the rest of these boys, and I do mean the rest so I could show the camera to my kids and in-laws
Now all you get is their ratty runners and smooth-like-I-wish-mine-were legs. Sorry.
Thanks to Marie and Heidi for having me over to their blog, and if you want to fnd out more about me and my books, check out my website: www.jaime-samms.net, or my livejournal blog: www.dontkickmycane.com
You can find me on face book and twitter, as well, if you’re so inclined. I’ll drop around Friday to give away a copy of my latest Dreamspinner short story, New Linen, as well.

Jaime, I actually have a picture that shows the whole thing, maybe not this particular dancer, but the one with the tattoos.
As long as he wasn’t looking too bored, he was all right, yeah? lol!
Aww, I miss you Jamie. I love that pic of the boring man’s leg lmao, that is definitely my bag and drinks (how many cups are there? lol) and maybe a bit of my arm heehee.
Miss you, too, Ive. It was such a blast, and better not to count how many cups, girl. Just be glad we all survived to tell teh tale lol!
Alas that you deleted the rest of your pictures!
Alas. But I hear they are out there, from other attendees.
I’ll hook her up with the rest of the pictures. heehee
I miss you Jaime.
You’d better go next year!!!
Knew we could count on you, Jambie. And I will do my very best to get there next year. It was awesome meeting you and so many others.
I’m pretty sure you can find one photo of the rest of him here: http://tinyurl.com/3ha8hny
And there you go. This is why she owns the blog, folks
Jaime- your blush couldn’t have outshone mine when that *very odd* man crashed the signing and asked for my “expert” help with his hard cock.
Um. Blink. Blink.
LOL! Yes. That was a…special moment.
