When the Sea and the Sky Turn to Blood, by Amy Lane
Listen my children and you shall hear of two lovers, born in the lonely heart of the moon. Of all the lessons, both great and small, that they learn, the most important of all is that the price of their humanity can be unbearably high.
Read it here.
Amy Lane has four children, two cats, and a Mate she wouldn’t trade for all of explored space. She writes because the people in her head refuse to shut up. Ever. She can be found at www.writerslane.blogspot.com or at www.greenshill.com, and would love to hear from you at amylane@greenshill.com–but be warned: her chronic disorganization has been known to spread via the internet. Do not blame her if you suddenly find your child’s toys in the refrigerator or knitting on the ceiling after contact

Gad, Amy, you tear my friggin heart out all the time. Fantastic work!
*sniffle*
Must pimp….and find the tissues.
*sniffle*
Thanks guys! (And thanks for the pimple, too:-) *makes note to send Tom and Tracy some tissues:-)
Pimpage… Jesus. Autocorrect is becoming a horrible horrible pain in the ass. PIMPAGE. It’s a word, I SWEAR!
*lols at the pimple*
I enjoyed the story, Amy. I like your myths/legends/fairytales. I feel like I’m not creative enough compared to you. (I know, that’s in my own head. But still…)
My brain just goes a lot of ways. When I was a kid, I used to get shipped off to grandmas for two weeks–I was allowed two books, and I brought fairy tale anthologies because the stretched longer. Every now and then I get a creativity bubble from all that fairy tale magma… and this was one of them!

Wow. Reminds me of old Tanith Lee fairy tales! <3
