Did you ever wonder how many people are really reading your blog? Did you ever wish you could get serious stats on your site that you could actually understand? Did you wish you could find out if you were cooler than other people? Did you wish you could find these things out without someone knowing you were looking it up?
You CAN! There is this nifty site called Alexa, and somehow they do magic things which allow you to plug in websites and get all kinds of intel. The general rule of thumb is that over a million is very very low (that’s your rank in order of pages) and under 100k is really freaking good and you should be proud. Anything between a mill and a hundred grand is respectable. Everything is relative, of course, but just so you know the baseline.
Occasionally I plug in COP’s info to see where we’re at. We keep hovering around 600k, which isn’t bad but could be better. (Working on it daily.) Anyway, today I found a new bit of stats in there I hadn’t before, and the results tickled me pink. Red means “greatly underrepresented” and green means “greatly overrepresented” on their scale.
So you are, by and large, older, college-educated women with children who read our smutty blog at home. May the gods bless you all. And bless those of you who aren’t that demographic at all or exactly either. But I love that basically the soccer mom demographic is trotting over here to see the pee-pees. Win, baby. Win.
